Me and my girl are going on a cruise in december, the two stops are Georgetown, Cayman Islands and Costa Maya, Mexico. We want to rent jet skis and drink and stuff, is it really expensive on the islands or pretty cheap?
Are those nice places to stop? The cruise is through royal carribean and we got a smoken deal on a 5 night cruise.

I’ve only been to the Cayman Islands, but I can tell you that stuff there is a little pricey. But not unaffordably expensive! And Georgetown is a pretty cool place, but I suggest hitting the beach there! It’s awesome!

Grand Cayman is very expensive but has the most beautiful beaches. You might want to just snorkel here on a drinking excursion. Costa Maya on the other hand is very INexpensive, you need to leave the area that the ships dock in tho to really enjoy. Go outside the shopping area and get a taxi to a beach club where u can drink and do water sports for the day. Do not take a ship excursion here, you can do much better on your own. Stop at a local place for lunch and enjoy $ 1 Coronas. Barter with the locals for jet ski rentals and taxis and food and everything. You will have a blast.
I’ve been on many cruises. I have been on Royal Carribean as well, it was wonderful. When I was in the Cayman Islands I went snorkeling with the stingrays. It was so much fun and very safe. Things are alittle pricey. I remember that a Big Mac at MacDonalds was $ 8.00 on one of the islands.
I just got back from Costa Maya a few days ago. We went on Carnival Glory. We had not booked anything through the cruise line for an excursion there and we were very glad we didn’t!! As soon as we got off the ship there were excursions that were being offered, plus a great pool/beach with swim up bar. We ended up staying there with a whole group and spent alot less than what our other excusions had cost us!!
