Easter you have to buy eggs, coloring kits, candy, and food. Christmas is more costlier becuase you have to buy gifts for everyone and also a tree, wood for burning, liqour and wine and food for the dinner.
These holidays are not only pagan but commercial events.
Even the idea that these holiday are to spend quality time with family as been pervaded by the greedy hands of commercialism aided & abetted by religion.
No wonder the bible warns , get out of her , my people . Who wants to share the faith of Christendom , the harlot riding the beast .
A LOT!!
What kills me is that all the money that is spent isn’t on the “christian” aspects of these holidays at all. It is all spent on the Pagan and Heathen aspects which were co-opted into christianity and have nothing at all to do with Jesus or the christian god.
It’s fine by me, really, because this time of year, everywhere I look, it’s YULE!! I love seeing all these symbols of my beliefs all around town during Yule, even though their true meaning is misunderstood by those displaying them.
Heh.
Yeah its pretty bad. We should be celebrating the birth of Christ and what he did for us on these holidays, its not about getting presents. Last year, my fiance and i said no presents for anyone, just the families coming together. It was great. No pressure on anyone to spend, we had a great time and no one had to get into a checkout queue 10 meters long
I only spend the bus fare to go to Church on Easter,Christmas, and other Christian Holidays. I and my brethren in our Assembly do not celebrate any so called Christian Festivals. I mean no worldly celebrations. Only call upon the name of the Lord. We do not belong to the world. We are looking forward for the coming of the Lord, who will appear in His Glory and take His Elected Children or the Spirit filled Church (Bride of Christ) with the twinkling of an eye. (commonly known as the rapture!)
May God Bless you
Amen Brother…
We all spend more than we intend, I’m sure. Every time we hope to cut down a bit and then feel somewhat mean.
Some people do spend a fortune, especially on their children, who probably lose interest in the fancy toys and often can use their imaginations better on more every day items when they are small.
Others really over indulge in drink etc. It can’t do them too much good.
More than any other time during the year. The merchant retailers PLAN on it as their largest sales of the year and LIVE OFF ITS PROFITS for the rest of the year.
That’s why they are so worried about Christmas sales this year. Christmas is the largest of them all and is what they all live off of. If it fails them, it will drift down through out to us all.
We have an average of $ 66’000 in credit card dept (in Australia)
But the fact we’re in a world financial crisis speaks for it self !
So much that it affects the Stock Market. Companies ‘live or die’ for these holidays. When false religion is destroyed, the ‘merchants’ will fulfill Bible prophesy when they exclaim: Too bad, too bad-the great city, clothed with fine linen and purple and scarlet, because in one hour such great riches have been devastated!’
“And every ship captain and every man that voyages anywhere, and sailors and all those who make a living by the sea, stood at a distance 18 and cried out as they looked at the smoke from the burning of her and said, ‘What city is like the great city?’ 19 And they threw dust upon their heads and cried out, weeping and mourning, and said, ‘Too bad, too bad—the great city, in which all those having boats at sea became rich by reason of her costliness, because in one hour she has been devastated!’
20 “Be glad over her, O heaven, also YOU holy ones and YOU apostles and YOU prophets, because God has judicially exacted punishment for YOU from her!”
21 And a strong angel lifted up a stone like a great millstone and hurled it into the sea, saying: “Thus with a swift pitch will Babylon the great city be hurled down, and she will never be found again. 22 And the sound of singers who accompany themselves on the harp and of musicians and of flutists and of trumpeters will never be heard in you again, and no craftsman of any trade will ever be found in you again, and no sound of a millstone will ever be heard in you again, 23 and no light of a lamp will ever shine in you again, and no voice of a bridegroom and of a bride will ever be heard in you again; because your traveling merchants were the top-ranking men of the earth, for by your spiritistic practice all the nations were misled. 24 Yes, in her was found the blood of prophets and of holy ones and of all those who have been slaughtered on the earth. and richly adorned with gold ornament and precious stone and pearl, Rev.18:16-24.
Many will insist that this prophesy has nothing to do with their religion, yet what religions around the world are not in legal, financial or criminal conflict with their governments? Jehovah’s Witnesses is the ONLY one I can think of!
