I’ve been to Las Vegas 3 times. I’ve stayed at the Mirage, Treasure Island and Monte Carlo. Since rooms are cheap, I’d go for the Monto Carlo, Mirage is pretty expensive because it’s a 4-5 star hotel and Treasure Island is too smokey and the line to resteraunts are killer (but pretty much all the hotels have a long wait in resteraunts). Hope this helps.
monte carlo. TI is upgraded, but it’s still a little dated.
Luxor is expensive, and very smoky – I think because of the shape of the hotel, smoke rises to the rooms.
Is Mandalay Bay an option? Paris? Ballys?
Treasure Island is the best of the three and best location, followed by the Luxor (Pyramid rooms) then the Monte Carlo.
Monte Carlo and Luxor have better deals if you book directly from the hotels using their discount promo codes. Here is a good place to find codes.
the luxor is right down the end of the strip. a long walk from anything.
it is good new accomadation, just renovated. but dont stay in the pyramid as it is bad from what Ive heard. Stay at in the buildings behind the pyramid.
There are not as many facilities at luxor such as pools, restaraunts etc. however, they have some really good exhibitions at luxor
the monte carlo is good. but old. construction of city centre next door can also be very noisy. it has some better facilities then luxor though. more of a older crowd though at monte carlo. it is also located better on the strip.
treasure island is just as good as luxor. newly renovated and great facilities, shows etc. better location on the strip then the other 2. it was a steve wynn property so you know everything is 1st class.
all the other hotels are very good aswell. I like the mirage, wynn, mgm grand. they are a bit pricier but very good. and they all have very good facilities..location etc.
good luck!
Monte Carlo has the best location of the three. It is also more relaxed than the others. I do not care for TI because of the show out front. It is so difficult to just to and from the hotel if you are a guest with the crowd out front for the show. The Luxor is fine but it is so far south on the strip.
You should go to this site. It is geared for first time visitors. They have a way to check for the best deal and best prices at all the booking sites and compares them. You will get some great prices that way. Just try it and see.
I really like the Luxor because of the layout. There is a way to get good hotel room prices: Book your room directly with your desired hotel and in addition use a promo offer from http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com in order to lower your price. There are some offers for December right now but usually you get the best promotion offer 2 – 3 months in advance.
The three are comparable. Very nice place. VEgas.com is the site to use for deals. Luxor and MC also have very active web sites that will send you offers on your e mail. Discounts that you are seeking. I would go to the two today and sign up and see if you could get something that would be advantageous to your planned trip. ANd occasionally check vegas.com.
Economy is still soft here, so you can get deals. they want you.
Enjoy Your visit.
Monte Carlo.
It has been nicely updated, unlike the Luxor. Treasure Island is too hokey and cheesy for my taste, but you may like it.
depends on your preferences.. as far as room quality goes, TI would be the favorite. TI is also in a solid location with the tram to Mirage and across the street from Venetian, Palazzo, Wynn, and Fashion Show Mall.
Monte Carlo is good value however the rooms haven’t been upgraded in years and are a lil worn. You’ll be next to City Center which will be opening around that time.. and you’re across the street from MGM and next door to NYNY. so location isn’t bad. The casino however is kinda dull.
Luxor’s public areas have all recently been renovated. The rooms inside the Pyramid are worn.. but if you get a tower room it’ll be a lil better. Luxor is connected via tram to Mandalay and Excalibur.. and of course it’s just a walk over to NYNY and MGM.
December is the cheapest time of the year after the 1st 2 weeks of NFR’s have wrapped up.. your best deals won’t come out until around Oct/Nov when the hotels have a better idea of their bookings. good luck!
the mirage but it is $ 150 a day and i think every night you stay you get less off i am not sure but when i went in to my room i felt like a princess. there pool is great too it is HUGE and i do believe that they have tigers and i think dolphins. and when you check in and check out there is a HUGE HUGE fish tank.
I’ve stayed at Luxor 3 times (twice during the 1990s, once in 2006), Monte Carlo once in 2003, and Treasure Island once in December 2007.
The rooms in each property are the same; a bit small and cramped, nothing fancy. All three of these properties were owned by MGM MIrage so you’ll notice similarities. Treasure Island was sold to Phil Ruffin in December but I doubt they’ve made any major changes since then.
So, as far as room interiors, there’s no difference. As far as the public areas (casino, food court, lounges, grounds) Treasure Island is the most upscale and luxurious of the three. Luxor and Monte Carlo are about equal but have slightly different atmospheres… Luxor has the “ancient Egypt” theme going on while Monte Carlo is plain and generic. Monte Carlo feels kind of like a library or museum while Luxor feels more like a fun place.
The only major thing to consider is that Luxor gives you the opportunity to live in a pyramid. They have a standard tower also, but the pyramid rooms are a unique experience. Between the fifth and 25th floors, when you step out of your room, there’s just empty space past the hallway (see photos at the second link below.) If you get a pyramid room, you’ll want to be on the 10th floor or higher to avoid noise from below; but above the 25th floor there is a ceiling so the top five floors are like standard hotel rooms. I’ve stayed on the 5th, 24th and 30th floors in the pyramid. The 30th floor room was very quiet; 5th floor was too noisy but it was on the casino side.
Luxor and Monte Carlo are fairly close together so your next thing to consider is location. Would you rather walk around the south strip area or north strip area? Luxor is close to Mandalay Bay, Excalibur, MGM, Tropicana and NY NY. Monte Carlo is close to NY NY, Bellagio, MGM, Planet Hollywood, and the Project CityCenter (which I suspect is still under construction.) Treasure Island is in between Mirage and Fashion Show Mall; across from Wynn, Encore, Venetian, and Palazzo.
I personally would choose Luxor or Treasure Island depending on whether I wanted to be in the south strip area or north strip area.
I personally love to stay at the Venetian, it’s the best bang for your buck, you don’t get ripped off, they came up with really good deals for a good room, like $ 400 a night for a 700 square foot room is an incredible steal. They have a strict no prostitutes policy, so I hope your not hoping to score with a prostitute. Have fun!
id say none of wat u picked. ive been 2 vegas 16 times, so how bout these?
Mandalay Bay or Caesars Palace
Mandalay Bay has a wave pool which is really fun
& Caesars Palace has Cher playing there.
but, if these r 2 high 4 u, then i would say Luxor out of ur choices.
The Wynn, Hotwire.com, just choose 4.5 or5 star, 5 if you want the Wynn. It will run you 110-160 a night, best spot in vegas, every room is a suite, trust me on this, I go all the time through hotwire you will not be dissapointed
Choose Treasue Island aka TI. Its next door to The big fat Fashion Mall. Nearby Wynn.
Expedia.com, travelocity.com, hotel.com websites show good rates. Or go blind and name your price for any hotel on the strip at http://www.priceline.com website. No turning back or canceling. I got in or $ 26 dollars at the Stratosphere. I liked it!
I checked in Weds/Thurs. for that rate. Check its website for any specials. Has casino/Starbucks/nude pool/family pool, mini retail strip/Tower View.
Cirus Circus is the best
they are not the best hotels but if i were to chose one i would be split between treasure island for location and luxor for atmosphere
may be this will help you to look and search in las vegas :

The Luxor is too far south and the Monte Carlo is next to a construction site so you may get some noise during the day. I would go for Treasure Island – it’s in a good location near the Venetian.
If those are your three choices, I would say go for the best rate. TI is more centrally located. Luxor and Monte Carlo are closer together. It kind of depends on what you want in a hotel. i think TI might be a little more crowded, but all are good choices. How about Mandalay Bay?
Luxor – I’ve stayed at the Luxor, it’s a nice hotel and you can get some good rates for it from time to time. If possible stay in the tower instead of the pyramid, it’s not as noisy with the sounds of the casino. Nice south side location and closer to the airport. You will have to walk, bus or monorail to get to some of the mid-strip hotels.
Monte Carlo – I personally haven’t stayed there but have had friends that have. They weren’t too impressed by Monte Carlo. You can also get some descent rates at this hotel and it has a nice pool area. Right now keep in mind that City Center is being constructed next door so if you are sensitive to noise this might not be the best choice.
Treasure Island – I personally haven’t stayed here but I have a VP in my office that goes to Vegas every year and ALWAYS stays at this hotel. Great location on the strip, central to a lot of other big hotels like the Wynn, Encore, Palazzo, Venetian, Mirage and Caesar’s Palace. Great free show that happens every evening. Treasure Island seems to be a little pricer than the others above but you can catch a deal every now and again.
You might want to also look into Excalibur. It’s next to the Luxor and connected outside by an internal tram system and inside via bridge walkway. They have deals all the time. It’s a nice hotel, and rooms are descent. I would suggest a Wide Screen room if you can handle the price. These have been upgraded an are a lot nicer than the regular tower rooms. This is a kid-friendly family friendly type enviroment.
DEFINITELY check out Smarter Vegas. I get some AMAZING deals from this site! I’ll be staying in a 725 sq ft. suite at THEHOTEL for $ 90 a night this Sept. They also have deals and discounts on shows as well.
Treasure Island (Far end of the Strip) has a good pool scene and a young crowd. Monte Carlo has Dick’s which can be a great bar to have fun in. The Luxor (The Other Side of the Strip) is kind of cool, but never stayed there. If your looking to party and have a good time, get a place in the middle of the strip. You will be doing a lot of walking.
I am a fan of the MGM. Good bars including Fat Tuesday’s where you can get the giant drinks and its right in the middle of the strip and there is a Monorail Station there so you can get all over the place pretty easily.
I would suggest treasure island its a nice hotel and is the closest to the middle of the strip. It will be cold so the less u have to walk the better and the less you have to use a taxi the better
