Will Christmas decorations in NYC still be up Jan 2-5, 2009?
Question by mrswaddell: Will Christmas decorations in NYC still be up Jan 2-5, 2009?
I’m planning to travel to NYC Jan 2-5. Will the decorations still be up from Christmas? When do they take down the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center? What about after-Christmas sales…will there still be some good deals during that time?

Yes they will. I believe it is usually the 10th of January when they go down. Last year we went from the 2nd to the 7th and they were up in Rockefeller the entire time.
As far as sales, that word is non-existent in NYC unfortunately.
Have fun and stay warm

Yes, the Christmas (thanks for calling them that and not “holiday”) decorations should still be up for the beginning of January. They usually wait until later in the year to take them down.
There should be some sales because many stores will be trying to get rid of their Christmas/winter stuff to make room for the spring inventory.
